It’s been a busy week, work, 4 sessions at the gym and started back to yoga. I have been doing yoga for about 5 or 6 years now, I’m far from perfect at it, but I enjoy it and that’s the most important thing. It really helps after being at the gym.
As I said previously, Jodie has moved to new premises, and Monday night was my first time there and must admit I was a bit anxious as it wasn’t just the usual folk I’m used too. I was sitting in the car waiting for Jodie and could see all these people going into the building (didn’t help the nerves!!!), anyway turns out the gym is split and although it was a wee bit busy it wasn’t what I had imagined and the folk that were already there seemed to be focused on what they were doing (it’s not your usual open gym but quite selective, appears mainly for personal instructors and clients) but still not what I have been used too. Tuesday was a bit better, slightly quieter and a little less scary!!! Wednesday, again was a bit quieter but we had a good giggle, whilst still really working hard. Thursday yoga and back to the gym Friday morning, which again was quite quiet, but really enjoyed the workout, we tried some different equipment (which I would never have tried if Jodie hasn’t have been there….back to the confidence thing again!!!!). Not that I’m worried about it, but just stating, so far it looks like I am the oldest there….just an observation. Some people might say I’m a wee bit hooked. That’s not to say I don’t find it hard because I do….don’t know if it’s more to do with turning 60 or just being a stubborn so an so and for those that know me will probably say the latter!!!!!
I’m still feeling completely out of my comfort zone (starting at the new gym and this blog which I’m working up to adding a video – this is definitely way way out of my comfort zone and a bit scary to say the least), but it is good to push yourself a bit and try new things – the old adage of “life’s too short”, and it’s very true. I think it’s too easy to put things off….“oh, I’ll do it tomorrow”.….something I think a lot of people say, but tomorrow gets put off again and again for whatever reason. Maybe, for me anyway, it has come back to my age that is pushing me (and keeping up with my grandaughter!!!), whatever the reason it seems to be working!!!!
I’m sure you will soon feel very comfortable at the new gym. You are doing great! 🙂 xxx
