So slowly word is now getting out about this blog and yes in some ways I am still a bit apprehensive what folk think (although I know I shouldn’t really bother.
It’s been a lovely weekend, sun shining (always makes me feel better). There has been a change to a new gym (still with Jodie just different premises), which is exciting and I’m actually looking forward to increasing my time at the gym although slightly apprehensive, new beginnings and all that. My eating hasn’t exactly been very healthy over the past few weeks (variety of factors, mainly just life!!!) but not beating myself up about it – there has got to be a balance and not depriving yourself – makes things worse I think, so just going to start looking a bit more closely and making a few more better choices.
Also over the past few weeks I’ve seen so many things advertising – “this is the best diet” – “these are the best exercises” – “in only 30 days you can have this toned body” – cue image of 20/25 year old without an inch of fat anywhere – or someone’s picture which has been digitally enhanced, which we all know goes on and let’s be honest there are options to do just that on a lot of our own phones nowadays. Got me thinking though – if they are all so amazing and going to work wonders – why is there so many out there – a money making market!!! If there was a magic diet or exercise that was going to give you the perfect body and strength then a lot of people would be out of work!! Basically it is down to ourselves – our own attitude towards how we feel about ourselves, and if it means you don’t want to exercise or eat healthy, then that is your own personal choice!! On that note I have been having more chats with some female friends about all the different things that affect us both physically and mentally, and what I said previously about never being really told how being a woman can affect you is so true. What is also great (and to be honest none of us should be surprised) is so many women feel the same way but never talk about it…….that could come down to how people feel they might be judged by others!!!! Unfortunately though, it is not the case that women stick together (even if they are going through the same things)…….human nature!!! Yes we are all different, but the fundamentals are the same. I suppose we can only take each day as it comes and try to do the best we can.
So true, and slow progress in better than no progress. 🙂 xxx

Absolutely agree! ☺️ you’ve just got to keep going no matter what anyone says.
Before I started weight training, I couldn’t hang from the pull-up bar James put in. I lasted about 2 seconds then fell off because I had no grip strength.
I tentatively tried again last week and managed 10 seconds. I was delighted. 🥳 My neighbour must have thought I’d gone doolally as I was jumping about punching the air. 😂
My goal is a 30 second hang by the end of the month. 💪 xxx
